Testicular cancer: could halving the amount of chemotherapy be effective?

A recent clinical trial, led by The Institute of Cancer Research (London, UK) and University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UK), has demonstrated that administering one cycle of chemotherapy could be as effective at putting testicular cancer into remission as the standard two cycles. The study, published in European Urology, could change clinical practice and result in quality of life improvement for patients with testicular cancer.Many patients require further intensive treatment following surgery for testicular cancer, often within 2 years after initial diagnosis.
