A brain-penetrating SERD termed imlunestrant is effective in treating ESR1-mutated breast cancer, either as a monotherapy or in combination with a CDK4/6 inhibitor. Data from the EMBER-3 trial has highlighted the potential of a next-generation selective estrogen receptor degrader (SERD) termed imlunestrant for certain ER-positive, HER2-negative advanced breast cancer.
