A blood test for lung cancer may reduce late detection

A new study showcases how a blood test could potentially detect lung cancer before it reaches a late stage. This could help reduce mortality rates by beginning treatment earlier than usual.  A recent trial led by the University of Dundee (UK) in collaboration with the University of Glasgow (UK) and other institutions across the UK, Canada and Australia has examined whether a blood test could detect lung cancer 4 years or more before clinical diagnosis. The study involved over 12,000 patients from Scotland (UK) and possibly marks one of the largest, randomized-controlled trials using blood biomarkers to detect lung cancer....
