Type 3c diabetes could be an early manifestation of pancreatic cancer

A study lead by Núria Malats at the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (Madrid, Spain) has investigated the link between the recently identified Type 3c diabetes – also termed pancreatogenic diabetes – and pancreatic cancer. It is hoped the findings could lead to earlier diagnoses of pancreatic cancer.Approximately 50% of pancreatic cancer patients also exhibit diabetes due to the dysregulation of insulin secretion.
