Simple blood test could detect rhabdomyosarcoma in children

Researchers at The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) (London, UK) have recently discovered that for pediatric cases of rhabdomyosarcoma, a simple blood test could predict cancer recurrence, measure disease severity and guide subsequent treatment. Rhabdomyosarcoma is a rare cancer that forms in the soft tissue and predominantly affects children. The survival rate of children with relapsed or metastasized rhabdomyosarcoma is less than a third.
