New ovarian cancer classification system shows promise for predicting patient outcomes

A new approach, which has been dubbed the ‘Oxford Classification of Carcinoma of the Ovary’, also known as the Oxford Classic, has been established by researchers at the University of Oxford and Imperial College London (both UK). The method can subtype ovarian cancer to accurately predict patient disease outcome, as well as enabling the development of new targeted cancer therapies.
