Loss of Y chromosome drives cancer growth in males with bladder cancer

It has long been recognized that somatic cells in men occasionally lose the Y chromosome and this occurrence increases with chronological age. Scientists have linked this loss of chromosome Y (LOY) to a list of diseases including Alzheimer’s Disease and heart failure.
