Simon S. Lo is Professor of Radiation Oncology and Neurological Surgery at the University of Washington School of Medicine. Lo graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of The Chinese University of Hong Kong and did his residency in Clinical Oncology (Royal College of Radiologists, UK curriculum) at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Hong Kong. He subsequently completed a residency in Radiation Oncology at the University of Minnesota (MN, USA) and also received a grant from the American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO) for a gastrointestinal radiation oncology fellowship at Mayo Clinic (MN, USA). He was also a visiting resident at Princess Margaret Hospital (Toronto, Canada).
He is currently the chair of the American College of Radiology (ACR) Appropriateness Criteria Expert Panel in Bone Metastasis, the Radiation Oncology Track Chair for RSNA Refresher Courses, and the President-Elect for CARROS of ACR. Lo is an expert in brain and spinal tumors, stereotactic radiosurgery and stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT). Lo is also a member of the AANS/ CNS brain metastases taskforce which is now drafting guidelines for multiple aspects of brain metastases.
