International Women’s Day 2026

International Women’s Day is celebrated annually on 8th March, serving the dual purpose of celebrating the remarkable achievements women have made throughout history across social, cultural, economic and political spheres, while also emphasizing the ongoing work needed to achieve full gender equality and eliminate discrimination and bias.

The theme for International Women’s Day 2026 is “Give to Gain” – a powerful call to action that emphasizes the transformative power of generous support and reciprocity in advancing gender equality.

This theme centers on a fundamental principle: when individuals, organizations and communities give generously to support women, the benefits multiply exponentially. The concept recognizes that giving isn’t about subtraction or loss. It’s about intentional multiplication of opportunities and positive outcomes.

Oncology Central and our sister sites – BioTechniques, Bioanalysis Zone and RegMedNet – will be putting together some exclusive features in line with this year’s theme to celebrate the achievements of women in STEM, highlighting their innovative research within women’s health, and demonstrate how we can all “give to gain”.
