ASCO19: over 60% of gynecologic oncologists have experienced sexual harassment

Photo credit: Balkees Abderrahman Results from a survey of members of the US Society of Gynecologic Oncology have shown that, of the 402 respondents, 64% of members had experienced a form of sexual harassment at some point in their career.Designed to evaluate perceived gender biases, prevalence of sexual harassment and the impact of gender and harassment of career growth, the study found that 71% of the women and 51% of the men who had responded had experienced harassment in either their training or in practice.
