ASCO23: US−Mexican cross collaboration greatly improves survival outcomes for pediatric leukemia patients

Two hospitals, one in Mexico and one in the US, have joined forces to seek to improve outcomes for pediatric leukemia patients. The findings will be presented at the 2023 ASCO Annual Meeting (2−6 June, IL, USA) and published in JCO Global Oncology. Across low- and middle-income countries access to cancer diagnostics and treatment options are often limited, resulting in lower survival rates. In this study, Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego (CA, USA) and Hospital General-Tijuana (Mexico) decided to share knowledge, expertise and resources with the aim of improving the treatment of pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia patients at the Tijuana hospital....
