ASCO22: study uncovers inequities in the use of telemedicine for cancer patients

A team of researchers has investigated the inequities in the use of telemedicine for cancer treatment during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study uncovered that black patients were less likely to use telemedicine services than white patients. The same trend was observed for those patients who were uninsured, lived in suburban or rural areas and resided in a neighborhood with low socioeconomic status.
