Being active reduces the risk of breast, bowel and womb cancer. We could prevent about one in eight cases of bowel and breast cancers, and one in ten cases of womb cancer in the UK by being active for 30 minutes a day at least five times a week. Kim Buxton, from Loughborough University, talks about the current physical activity trends in the UK and the impact on the nation’s health. World Cancer Research Fund scientist Susannah Brown explains the science behind physical activity and cancer risk, and behaviour change expert Karan Thomas talks about how health professionals can support people to be more active.
