Speaker: Kim Buxton (Loughborough University, UK)


Kim buxton.0 80x95jpgKim is the Programme Manager for physical activity, adults and healthcare within SSEHS Active at Loughborough University where she is leading an ambitious national project to improve the pre-exercise health screening processes for adults living with long term conditions.

Prior to her current role Kim worked at the British Heart Foundation National Centre for Physical Activity and Health for 15 years where she managed a number of sport, physical activity and health projects.  She led the National Centre’s work on the development of an exercise referral toolkit and was responsible for writing the guidance and resources for referring healthcare professionals, exercise professionals, exercise referral scheme coordinators and commissioners.

Kim has a background in health promotion and has worked in the physical activity and health field for over 25 years.  During this time she has developed and managed a range of community based physical activity interventions, pragmatic research studies and written a number of physical activity and health-related resources and training courses.
