Is immunotherapy safe for cancer patients with COVID-19?
Researchers from the University of Cincinnati (UC) Cancer Center (OH, USA) have released data that suggests immunotherapy does not worsen complications for cancer patients with COVID-19 infection. Recently presented at the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Virtual Meeting: COVID-19 and Cancer (20 – 22 July 2020), the findings contradict the original idea that treating COVID-19 patients with cancer immunotherapy might result in worsening patient’s health and overall outcomes.
