Artificial intelligence program identifies prostate cancer with unparalleled accuracy

Researchers from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and the University of Pittsburgh (both PA, USA) have successfully developed an artificial intelligence (AI) program capable of detecting prostate cancer with the highest degree of accuracy to date. The study – published this week in The Lancet Digital Health – could aid pathologists in atypical diagnoses.The team trained the AI using over a million images from stained tissue slides obtained from patient biopsies.
