Artificial intelligence is poised to overhaul pancreatic cancer screening

A team from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (UK) recently presented their research into using artificial intelligence (AI) to improve pancreatic screening at the ESMO World Congress on Gastrointestinal Cancer (1–4 July 2020). They are working to identify higher risk individuals to make screening more specific.Currently, 12 in every 100,000 people develop pancreatic cancer, making mass screening too unviable.
