Farhad Ravandi

Professor of Medicine, Department of Leukemia, University of Texas – MD Anderson Cancer Center (TX, USA)

Farhad Ravandi graduated from the University of London, England and undertook residency and fellowship training at the Baylor College of Medicine and The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. During this time he specialized in the management of hematological malignancies and stem cell transplantation. He then joined the University of Illinois at Chicago (IL, USA) as the director of the leukemia program program and the interim director of the stem cell transplant program for 3 years.

Ravandi is board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology. His main areas of interests are therapy of acute myeloid leukemia, as well as rare leukemias including Philadelphia positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia, hairy cell leukemia and T-cell leukemias. He has authored several book chapters and over 300 articles in peer-reviewed journals. He is a member of several professional societies including the American Society of Hematology and American Society of Clinical Oncology.
