International screening and early detection of breast cancer: resource-sensitive, age- and risk-specific guidelines


In this article we review the evidence and current controversies surrounding screening and early detection of breast cancer, from the initially positive age-specific randomized trials of the 1970s and 1980s, to the 2009 USPSTF recommendations, 2013 interpretation of SEER data, 2014 Canadian Study updates, and BHGI resource-sensitive guidelines, as well as the few reports available from emerging countries.
