SIR-Spheres® radioembolization in the management of metastatic colorectal cancer: a medical oncology perspective

Despite of the recent advances in personalized medicine, the majority of patients with metastatic colorectal cancer still succumb to disease progression, with liver failure constituting one of the most common causes of death. Recently, selective internal radioembolization has emerged as a new treatment option in patients with liver predominant disease.
