Past, present and future treatment strategies in peripheral T-cell lymphomas

Nodal peripheral T-cell lymphomas (PTCLs) are very aggressive tumors characterized by poor response to conventional chemotherapy and dismal prognosis. Recent evidence has indicated that, at least for patients aged less than 60 years, frontline high-dose chemotherapy followed by autologous stem cell transplantation can be an effective strategy.
